Press Release by HumanLogic, June 27, 2025
Toronto, ON, and Tampa, FL – HumanLogic today announced the release of Local Haze version 2.3.0, introducing support for Apple Watch and the inclusion of data from AirGradient Air Quality Monitors. This update expands the Local Haze app’s capability to deliver crowdsourced air quality data to users across 175 countries.
Local Haze is an iPhone application that aggregates real-time air quality readings from over 32,000 sensors across six continents, delivering air quality data with transparency features, including confidence ratings indicating the reliability of each sensor’s readings. The app uses clear visual indicators and simple explanations to help non-technical users understand complex environmental data.
The new Apple Watch companion app enables users to check local air quality conditions directly from their wrist, providing at-a-glance access to Air Quality Index (AQI) readings without requiring their phone. The update continues Local Haze’s commitment to making air quality information immediately accessible when users need it most, whether planning outdoor activities, managing asthma symptoms, or monitoring environmental conditions in their neighborhoods.

Version 2.3.0 also adds support for AirGradient Air Quality Monitors, an open-source hardware platform used by communities, schools, and environmental organizations worldwide.
“AirGradient’s commitment to making local air quality data accessible via an open API underscores the value of citizen science in fostering a healthier world,” said Karen Donoghue, co-creator of Local Haze. “The integration enables an entire ecosystem of air quality innovation by making monitoring accessible to developers, researchers, and everyday citizens.”
Local Haze version 2.3.0 is available as a free download on the Apple App Store, with support for Apple Watch included in the optional all-access subscription. For more information, visit localhaze.humanlogic.com.
